Chicago Chiquito [ongoing]

Chicago Chiquito is a collaborative project that pairs photography, research and text to explore the origin, impact and influence of the chain migration of residents from the Mexican town of La Haciendita, Guanajuato to Chicago. It addresses the intergenerational immigrant experience in the United States and examines how our sense of place—where we live, when and where we were born—affects how we view and define ourselves.

Former LeClaire Courts residents are still fighting to go home

The eccentric Marcos Raya

Marcos Raya is an old-timer, an artist who’s been part of Chicago’s art scene since the 1970s. This feature profile explores Raya’s connection to the city, his relationship with art and his thoughts on what it means to be an artist who happens to be Mexican.
